The Evil Within 2 release date COUNTDOWN: PS4, Xbox One and PC unlock times confirmed

The Evil Within 2 release date has been set for Friday, October 13th on all platforms.

Bethesda have now provided more information on the unlock times for PS4, Xbox One and PC, as well as system requirement and disc space.

For consoles, the The Evil Within 2 takes up approximately 31GB depending on the region/version when installed to the Xbox One.

A patch will be available on launch day, which will require 250MB of space available to install. Additional space will be necessary for game saves, requiring up to 18MB. Up to 10 saved games can be stored.

Meanwhile, The Evil Within 2 takes up approximately 33GB on PS4, with a patch planned for launch day, which will require 260MB of space available to install. 

Additional space will be necessary for the player to make game saves, requiring up to 72MB of space available on the HDD for a save to be made.

40GB of free HDD space will be required on PC, which has minimum spec sheet including an Intel Core i5-2400 / AMD FX-8320 or better CPU, 8 GB RAM and a GPU: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD 7970 3GB or better.

Currently, The Evil Within 2 is available to pre-load on all platforms but does have slightly different launch times for each.

For Xbox One, this means a launch at midnight, just like on PS4. For PC players, the only difference will be those in the PST timezone, who get to start playing at 9pm, October 12th.

Speaking about the direction of The Evil Within 2, Bethesda revealed before launch: “Our focus when making The Evil Within 2 was to build on the surreal horror and gameplay fans loved from the first game, while creating an expanded world to explore and a compelling story for you to experience as Sebastian. 

“With an expanded customization system and the addition of a brand new crafting system, The Evil Within 2 provides all players with myriad options for survival, allowing you to make your way through the world in the way that best suits your playstyle.

“We know fans of survival horror will enjoy what we’ve prepared for them, but we also welcome players new to the genre, as we feel The Evil Within 2 is a great gateway into this unique style of game.
