Star Wars SHOCK: Daisy Ridley ‘I was in hysterical TEARS, overnight fame was crippling’

Following tons of auditions, the 25-year-old Brit was cast as the lead in the new Star Wars trilogy.

Having played Rey in The Force Awakens, Daisy experienced overnight  Hollywood stardom, something she now reveals she has really struggled with.

During an interview for her new movie Murder on the Orient Express with Vogue, she opened up about a time fans managed to find her home.

Daisy explained how she answered the door to autograph hunters only to respond: “No f**kin’ way.”

The actress said: “Everything was so confusing. People were recognising me – I still don’t know how to handle it.

“My skin got really bad because I was stressed. It was crippling. I just felt so seen and so self-conscious.”

Her mother told her: “Everyone’s trying to take ownership of you.”

Daisy revealed how she’s been seeing a “lovely lady” therapist who has supported her through her struggles with fame.

Daisy admitted she has been calling her mother every month “in hysterical tears, going, ‘I’m not equipped to deal with this.’”

Vogue’s November issue is out on October 24, while Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
