Avengers Infinity War: Major MCU ‘plot hole’ addressed by Kevin Feige

Ahead of Avengers: Infinity War, which releases next Spring, Feige has been asked why one of the MCU’s most powerful characters has been completely missing in action thus far.

Throughout all of the global chaos that the other heroes have sorted over the years, where was Captain Marvel?

Brie Larson’s character won’t, of course, be absent for much longer: she is rumoured to be filming an appearance in Avengers 4 before her own solo movie goes into production.

So where has she been all this time? Wouldn’t she have turned up at some point sooner?

Speaking to i09, Feige said only: “The key is…‘out there’.”

Can we take this to mean that her absence will be addressed on-screen? We shall have to wait and see.

In the meantime, he’s currently in the process of promoting Thor: Ragnarok, which releases later this month.

It’s been labelled by analysts as Marvel’s most “risk-free” movie to date, and is expected to easily rake in big money at the box office.

The blockbuster-in-waiting shows Chris Hemsworth back in action as the titular hammer enthusiast, with Tom Hiddleston back as Loki and Idris Elba returning as Heimdall. Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum also join.

Larson, meanwhile, was seen with Mark Ruffalo at a photoshoot for the MCU over the weekend in a leaked video.

Avengers: Infinity War is out next Spring in the UK. Thor: Ragnarok releases October 24.
