Overwatch Halloween loot boxes: What’s coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in Jack-o-lanterns

Overwatch Halloween loot boxes will launch in less than an hour and will include a mix of new cosmetics, and ones from the 2016 event.

The design will be the same as last year’s, popping up in special Jack-o-lantern boxes until November 2.

Around 50 new items are expected to be added to the game and will include a mix of new skins, emotes and sprays.

For anyone interested in what new Overwatch Halloween skins will be arriving, you can check out some of the leaked images below.

It should be noted that contents of loot boxes are determined at the moment you earn them, meaning that saving them up will not help you grab more seasonal loot.

It’s expected that the new Overwatch Halloween event will launch at around 7pm BST, although there could always be a few delays along the way.

A recent leak picked up Reddit user Mnemosynaut revealed new skins for Reaper, Mei, Symmetra and Zenyatta.

That’s on top of the Van Helsing-inspired McCree Legendary already revealed by Blizzard.

The leaked images also confirmed the existence of 50 new Halloween-themed items, which will almost certainly be available in special Jack-o-lantern loot boxes.

And If it’s anything like the 2017 Summer Games event, Blizzard is expected to bring back some of last year’s skins at a cheaper price.

Based on the Summer Games event, Classic Halloween Terror skins could cost as little as 1,000 credits.

That’s compared to 3,000 credits for the brand new skins available for the likes of McCree and Reaper.

Blizzard is yet to announce pricing and event details, so stay tuned for more information.

For those interested:

New Summer Games 2017 cosmetic items were also priced at 3,000 for Legendary Skins, 750 credits for Epic skins, 225 credits for Rare tier items and 75 credits for common tier items.

That’s compared to returning Legendary skins at 1,000 credits, 2016 Epic skins for 250 credits, last year’s Rare tier items for 75 credits and 2016 Common tier items for just 25 credits.

You can expect a big update on this subject when the Overwatch Halloween update arrives.
