Apple iPhone X features the new A11 Bionic processor

It’s been a stellar year for smartphone fans with the new and rival Android devices pushing the boundaries of technology.

, Samsung, LG and Google have all unveiled new devices over the past few months which feature improved displays, better cameras and extras such as wireless and fast charging batteries.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

Power under the hood has also been upgraded with Apple revealing its new A11 Bionic processor and most Android devices getting their grunt from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835.

However, although both of these chips are fast, one top expert is warning that the Android platform is starting to stagnate while Apple continues to boost performance even further.

In an interview with Tom’s Guide, John Poole, founder of Primate Labs and creator of Geekbench, revealed the growing gap between these rivals is concerning.

“The thing that I don’t fully understand is why performance has seemed to stagnate on the Android side.

“Where you don’t see these big leaps forward. I don’t understand what’s happening there.” Said Poole.

Speaking about the new A11 Bionic chip, Poole added: “At this point, you’ve got desktop-class performance in a handset.

“There’s no way of looking at it any other way. I wouldn’t have thought to use my first-generation iPhone to edit video.

“I would’ve thought you were crazy. Everybody looks at the A11 scores and they go, ‘Holy crap, this is . . . what does this mean?

“I think there are all sorts of other cool things that we’re going to be able to do on our phones down the road that we can’t even necessarily comprehend right now,”

Apple’s A11 Bionic processor was unveiled at the firm’s iPhone event last month.

These new brains feature a six-core CPU design with two performance cores that are 25 per cent faster and four efficiency cores that are 70 per cent faster than the A10 Fusion, offering industry-leading performance and energy efficiency.

The new iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X are all being powered by this speedy chip which is clearly faster than anything Apple has created before.

To show just how powerful it is, a recent Geekbench test recorded 10,170 – the fastest Android phone, the Note 8, hit 6,564 which is over 30 per cent slower.

This power was also shown off via a 4K video exporting test with the iPhone smashing its rivals.

The performance was measured by adding transitions and effects to a 4K video before exporting it from the phone.

It took the iPhone 8 just 42 seconds to whizz through the task which is considerably faster than both the Galaxy Note 8 and S8.

However, it’s not all bad news for Apple’s rivals with .

The team at Phone Buff recently put the Note 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through this gruelling experiment with Samsung coming out on top.

Both smartphones were put through their paces by having to open a succession of mobile apps one after another.

These popular applications include Snapchat, Photoshop and Subway Surfer.

Once all the apps have been launched and closed once, the phones then have to go through the same operation again.

After the cycle has taken place for a second time the clock is stopped to reveal a winner.

The iPhone 8 Plus and Note 8 both performed well and after the first round Apple’s smartphone was slightly ahead.

But, according to the test, the second round sees the Note 8 fighting back and actually coming out as a clear winner – beating its rival by a full six seconds.

Whilst both devices are able to keep all the apps running after the first round, it seems the Note 8’s giant 6GB of RAM helps them to re-load that much faster.
