Harvey Weinstein allegations: Gwyneth Paltrow accuses movie boss of harassment on ‘Emma’

The 65-year-old is alleged to have sexually harassed Paltrow when she was first cast in Emma in the 1990s; an incident that led to her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt confronting him.

Pitt has reportedly confirmed the account to the New York Times, who broke the story.

“I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified,” Paltrow said, claiming Weinstein placed his hands on her and suggested they go to the bedroom for massages.

When Pitt then confronted him, it is claimed that he warned her not to tell anybody what had happened.

“I thought he was going to fire me,” the superstar added.

Over the course of her career, she said: “He was alternately generous and supportive and championing, and punitive and bullying.”

Allegations against Weinstein – now ousted from his own company – have been piling up at a horrifying rate over the last week as more and more stars step forward.

Yesterday it was alleged that he called Hayley Atwell as “fat pig” on the set of Brideshead Revisited; prompting co-star Emma Thompson to scold him.

His spokesperson told NYT: “Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein.

“Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”

The likes of Meryl Steep, Jennifer Lawrence, George Clooney, Dame Judi Dench and Glenn Close have all spoken of their horror at the spreading news.
