Dead by Daylight Nintendo Switch, Xbox One X UPDATE: Good news and bad news for fans

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has good news and bad news for fans, as speculation about the next DLC character rumbles on.

The bad news is that the multiplayer horror game won’t be coming to Nintendo Switch.

Lead designer Mathieu Cote told DualShockers that the controls and technical requirements would make it difficult to port the game over.

Control issues were also a factor in the decision not to release Lawbreakers on Nintendo Switch.

It’s better news for prospective Xbox One X owners, who have been told to expect enhancements.

This includes performance boosts, which should improve the frame rate and resolution.

There’s also a chance that we’ll see another DLC character released in the coming weeks and months.

Dataminers have reason to believe that Freddy Krueger may join the roster of playable characters.

According to GameRant, evidence of a new character referred to as The Sandman can be found within the latest update files.

The character is believed to have a clawed glove and an ability called Dreammaster, which makes it sound a lot like Freddy Krueger.

The Nightmare on Elm Street character would join fellow horror icons like Michael Myers and in the PS4, Xbox One and PC game.

“Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed.

“Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.

“The Survivors’ goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer – something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.”
