Chris Eubank Jr calls out George Groves after Avni Yildrim third-round knockout

Eubank Jr knocked out Avni Yildrim in the third round to progress into the semi-finals earlier this evening and immediately turned his attentions to a potential fight with George Groves.

Groves returns to the ring next week when he defends his WBA super-middleweight title against Jamie Cox.

But Eubank Jr has warned Groves he is ready to do battle should he make his way into the last four of the tournament.

“I’m here to dominate and I’m sending a message out to everybody – George Groves, I’m coming for you.

“Get through your fight with Jamie Cox next week and we’ll give the fans a fight they want to see when you face me in January.”

He added: “I’m coming to knock people out. I’m not playing.

“Me and Groves will give the public what they want to see. Billy Joe Saunders and James Degale don’t want to fight me.

“You know, lions don’t concern themselves with the opinions of sheep. I don’t care for arm chair critics. I’m delivering knockouts and giving the public what they want to see.”
