Dries Mertens transfer claim
04:30: Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on Dries Mertens, according to Napoli’s former sporting director Pierpaolo Marino.
The Belgium international has a £26million release clause, and Marino thinks the low value is intriguing United.
“The €28m clause is likely to be a low price even if he is 30,” he told Calcio Mercato.
“It turns out that United are following him very closely.”
Arsenal could steal Henderson
04:00: Manchester United are at risk of losing goalkeeper Dean Henderson to Arsenal.
The 20-year-old is currently impressing on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town, but is coming to the end of his contract at Old Trafford.
And with his future up in the air, The Sun say Arsenal and Benfica are keen to pounce.
He could yet stay at United if he is given clear first-team assurances from Jose Mourinho and the Red Devils’ hierarchy.
However, if there are no guarantees of a clear path to the top at United, he is prepared to move to benefit his progression and development.
