Xbox One X secret REVEALED: Hidden feature is GOOD NEWS for Halo fans

Xbox One X is hiding a hidden surprise for Halo fans, it has been revealed.

With the Xbox One X release date creeping up fast, fans have discovered a Master Chief Easter egg hidden within the console itself.

As YouTube channelĀ unocero points out, the console’s board has an etching of Master Chief riding a scorpion.

This is a reference to the Xbox One X’s Project Scorpio codename.

Interestingly, it’s not the first time Microsoft has hidden a Halo secret within the Xbox One.

Master Chief can also be found within the Xbox One S.

Microsoft’s impressive new console has a CPU that is 30% faster than that of the original Xbox One, while the GPU is 4.6 times more powerful than its predecessor.

Interestingly, the 8GB of memory – which is up from the 5GB found in the original Xbox One – allows the console to process art assets, making it easier to run 4K resolution visuals at higher speeds.

The full list of Xbox specs can be seen below…

  • CPU Eight custom x86 cores clocked at 2.3GHz
  • GPU 40 customised compute units at 1172MHz
  • Memory 12GB GDDR5
  • Memory Bandwidth 326GB/s
  • Hard Drive 1TB 2.5-inch
  • Optical Drive 4K UHD Blu-ray

The news comes as Microsoft announces plans to bring mouse and keyboard support to Xbox One soon.

Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra told Windows Central that the company will give players and studios the choice when it comes to how to use the feature.

Developers will be able to decide whether or not to include it, while players can choose to play against users with mouse and keyboards, controllers, or both.

“We’ll leave it a lot up to developer choice. A lot of people tweet me and say ‘you can’t do this because of fairness,’ and we understand that. We run two platforms; the Xbox platform, and the Windows platform.

“And so, when we bring keyboard and mouse, we’ll coach developers and say look, you’ve got to think about your multiplayer pools, if you have a competitive game, people are probably going to want the choice to say I’ll play with other keyboard and mouse people or I’ll play only with controller people, or that I’ll play with any of those.”
