Star Wars Battlefront 2 open beta LIVE: Download on PS4, Xbox One, PC release right NOW

 beta is live on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Just days after the launch of the pre-order beta, EA has opened up the trial to everybody.

The beta ends at 5pm BST on Monday, October 9. This gives fans an entire weekend to try the new Battlefront 2 content.

Fans can download the beta from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live or Origins for PC.

The PC beta weighs in at around 22GB, the PS4 beta is just over 15GB, while the Xbox One beta requires 13.2GB of free space.

“Get ready to battle enemies in multi-stage Galactic Assault, take on swarms of AI foes in Arcade, joins squadrons of friends in Starfighter Assault, and maximise your trooper skills in eight vs eight Strike missions.”

Fans can try the new Galactic Assault mode, which takes place on Naboo.

Players will either defend Naboo as Clone troopers, or storm the royal palace as a Separatist. It includes four trooper classes, vehicles and more.

Strike sees players join a team of First Order troopers or Resistance fighters in eight-vs-eight battles around Maz’s castle, while Arcade is made up of single-player scenarios in Theed, which is the capital of Naboo.

The aerial Starfighter Assault mode sees players attempt to either blow up a Star Destroyer or defend it.

Each of the game modes come with their own daily challenges, which can be found below.

October 6: Arcade Challenges

  • Complete three Arcade scenarios, defeat 30 enemies.

October 7: Galactic Assault Challenges

  • Play one round of Galactic Assault, defeat 20 enemies while playing as Reinforcement, play as an defeat a reinforcement, Hero, villain and trooper.

October 8-9: Starfighter Assault Challenges

  • Become a Hero ship, destroy 5 turrets, destroy 5 objects, and get a Saviour Kill Assist 25 times.

Playing the beta unlocks the ‘Founder’s’ Crate, which is filled with credits, an exclusive emote for Darth Maul, and a rare trooper Star Card.
