The release date for Stardew Valley Switch was revealed earlier this week by the Finn Brice – CEO of the game’s publisher Chucklefish.

Stardew Valley will feel right right at home on the Nintendo Switch.

The smash hit indie title is heavily inspired by fellow farming sim Harvest Moon, which first came out on the Super Nintendo.

Other beloved titles in the Harvest Moon series also appeared on the Game Boy, the Gamecube and the Nintendo DS.

Stardew Valley was first released on Windows in February 2016 before ports were made for the PS4 and Xbox One that came out in December 2016.

The charming and hugely popular game puts the player in charge of running a small farm, growing crops and raising livestock.

WHAT IS THE STARDEW VALLEY RELEASE DATE? HAS A RELEASE TIME BEEN REVEALED?

The Stardew Valley release date was revealed earlier this week on Twitter by Chucklefish boss Finn Brice.

On the @Tiyuri account, he tweeted: “Stardew Valley Switch, Oct 5th, $14.99”.

In the UK, Stardew Valley will cost £10.99.

While we know the Stardew Valley release date is October 5, so far we don’t know a release time.

Stardew Valley is available to pre-order on the Nintendo Switch eShop right now, but a release time has not been issued yet.

Brice took to Twitter to reveal to fans that Chucklefish don’t have a release time for Stardew Valley at the moment.

He said: “I wasn’t able to get any info on release time guys, sorry 🙁 I’d imagine it’s whenever the eshop updates”.

IS STARDEW VALLEY SWITCH GETTING GOOD REVIEWS?

So far, there have been no Stardew Valley Switch reviews ahead of its big release date today.

The game has been reviewed many times before the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

It currently holds an 86 per cent Metacritic rating for PS4, and an 89 per cent rating for Xbox One and PC.

Kotaku have published their first impressions of Stardew Valley Switch, and the article is glowing.

They said: “Stardew Valley is an amazing game, and the Switch port has perfected the few small issues I had with it. Goodbye social life.”

Kodak later added: “In the Switch port, the controls are finally as intuitive as they should be, making Stardew Valley feel more at home here than on PC or other consoles. 

“No longer do I dread doing the one really tedious task where I have to fight with the UI just to fill out the community center.”

WHAT IS THE DOWNLOAD SIZE FOR STARDEW VALLEY?

Stardew Valley is currently listed on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

The download size for the hit farming game is just 922.75MB, so it won’t take up too much of the default 32GB space your Switch has.

WILL STARDEW VALLEY HAVE A SEQUEL?

It’s unclear whether Stardew Valley will have a sequel.

But we do know that Chucklefish will follow up the success of Stardew Valley with another charming indie title that looks set to be a hit.
