Chelsea News: Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois offered bumper new contracts

Chelsea are in the process of offering a number of their star players new contracts, prioritising Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois.

Hazard’s current deal runs until June 2020, while Courtois’ has just two more years left to run.

The Belgium internationals have both been linked with moves to Real Madrid in recent months.

And the Blues have reportedly acted swiftly to tie the pair down to new long-term deals in south-west London.

Website Goal claim Hazard, who is currently the club’s highest earner, will be offered a new deal worth £300,000 a week plus bonuses.

That will see his weekly earnings rise by in excess of £100k, making him one of the best-paid players in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old’s new deal is a priority for Chelsea but they have not overlooked the importance of also tying down Courtois.

The goalkeeper will reportedly be offered a new £200k-a-week contract – almost doubling his current salary.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is said to be overseeing the new deals.

Courtois has previously shown his commitment to the Blues in the media, suggesting he would sign a new contract

However, Hazard has been far more illusive and claimed earlier in the summer it would be a “dream” for him to sign for Real.

“We all dream. Of course, I would consider it if Madrid made an offer,” he said.

“I am keen to win trophies. It would be great to win the Champions League but Chelsea’s goal is to win the Champions League as well.

“Honestly, I do not know what will happen.”
