World War 3 threat: North Korea warns USA and Trump will meet a ‘MISERABLE extinction’

Tensions have peaked between North Korea and the US with a war of words between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump sparking fears of World War 3.

The UN Security Council has imposed its toughest sanctions on North Korea in response to its continuing nuclear weapons and ballistic missile tests.

And the measures have included a ban on countries importing North Korean coal, iron, and new limits on its crucial oil products imports.

North Korea has hit back against the sanctions accusing the US of abusing its privileged position to indulge itself in “outrageous arbitrary and high-handed practises to impose its heinous demands upon other countries”.

In an article from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea claimed the sanctions the US have imposed are aimed at “obliterating” the state and causing a huge amount of damage to the development of the country.

The US has added eight North Korean banks to its sanctions blacklist, which is part of its effort to starve North Korea financially.

These Treasury sanctions will force North Korea to find other ways to move money.

The article in the state media in the hermit kingdom said: “It is a foolish dream to hope that the sanctions could work on the DPRK while the sanctions have failed to stop it from becoming a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and making rapid progress in the building of an economic power for more than half a century”.

And Kim Jong-un’s mouthpiece warned the Sanctions Damage Investigation Committee would make the US pay for damage “to the last penny”.

The article concludes: “The US should be fully aware that the more frantic it gets in the unprecedented anti-DPRK frenzy, the earlier it will meet its own miserable extinction.”

It comes as North Korea’s UN ambassador accused the United States of imposing “an economic blockade” on his country aimed at toppling Kim Jong-un.

Ja Song Nam said: “The US is clinging to unprecedented nuclear threats and blackmail, economic sanctions and blockade to deny our rights to existence and development, but they only result in our sharper vigilance and greater courage.”

A week ago, the North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho said Mr Trump has “declared war on our country” by tweeting North Korea’s leadership “won’t be around much longer”.
