One of this pound coins is worth £10,000: Can you spot which £1 is rare and WHY?

A pound coin has been listed on eBay for £10,000 after an eagle-eyed collector noticed something about it that makes it very valuable.

The rare £1 has a mistake, which means collectors will pay above and beyond the coin’s value in a shop.

The coin is one of the new pound coins, which became legal tender in March 2017. Since coin enthusiasts have been keen to spot the valuable pieces among the new tender.

Would you have spotted the error on this coin that makes it hugely valuable?

The error on the coin involves a printing mistake, meaning the design is not symmetrical, and the silver part of the coin is not properly circular.

The mistake, which can be seen on both sides of the coin, occurs when the coin is not properly printed in the press when it is created.

The coin is listed under: “£1 one of a kind pound coin extremely rare error bimetal press hit mistake”.

The seller writes underneath the advertisement: “I’ve got to sell extremely rare 1 pound coin. You won’t find another one like this.

“On the pictures you can see the difference, face of the Queen looks different aswell.” [sic]

Such coins are in high demand, and another new pound coin with an error is on sale for £5,995.00.

This coin has an error where the date has been stamped, and the lettering is faded.

Other coins are selling for large amounts on the auction site too.

A Benjamin Britten 50p coin is selling for £1,500 on eBay.

The coin was created to celebrate the life of the British composer. It was created in 2013 and is now being sold for huge sums.

Also for sale for a pretty penny is the Battle of Britain 50p. This coin was minted in 2015.

The coin has three different designs of the Queen, and was the first ever 50p coin to have three designs for the two faces.
