Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans are counting down to the start of the PS4, Xbox One and PC beta.
The Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta has an October 4 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and a 9am UK start time. But that’s only if you’re a pre-order customer.
The open beta – which doesn’t require a pre-order – starts two days later on October 6. It also has a 9am UK start time.
The PC beta ends at 5pm BST on Monday, October 9. This gives fans an entire weekend to try the new Battlefront 2 content.
Annoyingly, however, despite being one of the biggest betas in EA history, there’s no option to pre-load.
“The Star Wars Battlefront II Multiplayer Beta is almost here,” reads an EA blog post.
“Get ready to battle enemies in multi-stage Galactic Assault, take on swarms of AI foes in Arcade, joins squadrons of friends in Starfighter Assault, and maximise your trooper skills in eight vs eight Strike missions.”
As the post suggests, fans will be able to try the new Galactic Assault mode, which takes place on Naboo.
Players will either defend Naboo as Clone troopers, or storm the royal palace as a Separatist. It includes four trooper classes, vehicles and more.
Strike sees players join a team of First Order troopers or Resistance fighters in eight-vs-eight battles around Maz’s castle, while Arcade is made up of single-player scenarios in Theed, which is the capital of Naboo.
The aerial Starfighter Assault mode sees players attempt to either blow up a Star Destroyer or defend it.
Each of the game modes come with their own daily challenges, which can be found below.
October 4: Assault Trooper Challenges
- Play as all 4 assault trooper classes and defeat 150 enemies in any mode.
October 5: Battle Points and Hero Challenges
- Become a Hero using Battle Points, play as Light and Dark side Hero, defeat 20 enemies as Hero.
October 6: Arcade Challenges
- Complete three Arcade scenarios, defeat 30 enemies.
October 7: Galactic Assault Challenges
- Play one round of Galactic Assault, defeat 20 enemies while playing as Reinforcement, play as an defeat a reinforcement, Hero, villain and trooper.
October 8-9: Starfighter Assault Challenges
- Become a Hero ship, destroy 5 turrets, destroy 5 objects, and get a Saviour Kill Assist 25 times.
Playing the beta unlocks the ‘Founder’s’ Crate, which is filled with credits, an exclusive emote for Darth Maul, and a rare trooper Star Card.
