Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer to appear in movie? Federer wants Leo DiCaprio to play him

The tennis legends have shared 35 Grand Slam titles between them and are fighting it out to become the end-of-season world No.1.

That’s despite there being a host of young guns on the scene and the pair both being the wrong side of 30.

Federer, 36, was quizzed about the possibility of a movie being made while appearing at ‘Borg vs. McEnroe’ – which was shown at a film festival in Zurich.

The Swiss does not think it will happen but has already started thinking about who could play him.

Federer said: “I doubt there ever will be a movie about Rafa and me.

“But if there is, I’d like Matt Damon, Leo DiCaprio or a James Bond like guy to play me.”

When questioned about who Federer would like to play as an actor, he replied: “Leonardo DiCaprio. He recently won an Oscar and makes great films.”

Federer has won 19 Grand Slam titles including two this year – Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

Nadal sits on 16 with the French Open and last month’s US Open to his name in 2017.

Their rivalry has echoes of McEnroe and Borg and eight-time Wimbledon champion Federer loves hearing all about it.

He said: “They have incredible stories.

“It was more rock and roll, let’s be honest. Today it’s very professional—but still we have a good time.

“But it’s also very similar to some extent. We can be rivals and yet get along, and I think me and Nadal have shown that, as McEnroe and Borg did.”
