Mean Girls Day: Musical tickets on sale TODAY – all you need to know HERE

Today, therefore, is the perfect day for tickets for the Mean Girls musical to go on sale.

The bad news for British audiences is that it’s currently only planned for Broadway, where it launches with previous from March 12, 2018, ahead of an official opening on April 8.

It’s booking through to September 23, 2018.

Tickets are out at 10am local time – or 3pm in the UK, for anyone hoping to visit. Ticketmaster are selling.

The show will be at the August Wilson Theatre, where special events are planned for today.

Time Out reports that 11am to 1pm will play host to opportunities for free tickets, merchandise and cheese fries – which Regina George (Rachel McAdams) chowed down on.

Tina Fey announced the news of the Broadway premiere last month, after writing both the movie and the book for the show.

Music comes courtesy of Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Neil Benjamin and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw.

Erika Henningsen is due to play Cady on stage, the role made famous by Lindsay Lohan on screen.

Taylor Louderman will play Regina (Rachel McAdams in the film), while Barrett Wilbert Weed plays Janis (previously Lizzy Caplan). Kerry Butler, a Tony nominee, plays Ms Norbury, who Fey herself played in the 2004 movie.
