Stardew Valley Switch release date REVEALED – Farming smash hit out this week

UPDATE ONE: The Stardew Valley release date for Nintendo Switch has been revealed!

Stardew Valley is coming to the hit hybrid console this week, and will be available to download on October 5.

It’s priced at $14.99. No UK price has been revealed yet.

Finn Brice, the CEO of Stardew Valley publisher Chucklefish, revealed the news today on Twitter.

He tweeted: “Stardew Valley Switch, Oct 5th, $14.99”.

ORIGINAL: Stardew Valley is the hit indie-game that’s inspired by the Harvest Moon farming series, and it’s heading to the soon.

An announcement on the release date for Stardew Valley on Switch has been expected after it was revealed it had been approved for the hybrid console.

And now Finn Brice, the CEO of Stardew Valley publisher Chucklefish, revealed on Twitter that a big announcement on the game will be made today.

He tweeted: “The Stardew Valley news you’ve all been waiting for coming later today.”

Stardew Valley was first released on Windows in February 2016 before ports were made for the PS4 and Xbox One that came out in December 2016.

The charming and hugely popular game puts the player in charge of running a small farm, growing crops and raising livestock.

It will feel right at home on the Nintendo Switch, as Harvest Moon – which heavily inspired Stardew Valley – first came out on the Super Nintendo.

Chucklefish had previously said that they don’t announce release dates until its close to launch.

So, if today’s big reveal is about a Stardew Valley release date for Nintendo Switch, it could mean the launch may happen any moment now.

In a recent blog post, Chucklefish said: “I know you’re all waiting for Stardew Valley on the Switch! I see your tweets!

“The port is in testing now, and we’ll let you know as soon as we can confidently announce a release date.

“We generally don’t announce release dates until quite close to launch, when we are at least 95% certain that nothing will go terribly terribly wrong.”

This was followed by a tweet suggesting that a Nintendo Switch release date is drawing near.

The @Tiyuri Twitter account posted: “Stardew Valley Switch is coming along very well. The last known bugs have been fixed and we’re submitting for testing this week :)”.

With the Nintendo Switch version almost done, Chucklefish has started teasing its next project.

And according to Chucklefish, the new game takes the lessons learnt from Stardew Valley.

“SDV still in testing, no news yet,” a tweet reads. “Thought this sneak peak might tide you over. We’ve learned a lot of lessons from working with Stardew.”

Last week it was revealed Stardew Valley is another step closer to launching on the Nintendo Switch .

According to an update on Twitter, the game has been approved by Nintendo.

“Stardew Valley Switch Update, we’ve been approved,” the tweet reads. “Working on finalising a release date with all parties involved. Will continue to inform!”
