Las Vegas shooting: TERRIFYING moment concert-goers HIT THE FLOOR as gunman opens fire

City authorities were investigating reports of an “active shooter” in the world-famous Strip, but have since reported the “suspect is down”.

A chilling Las Vegas shooting video shows desperate concert-goers diving for cover as the gunfire rings out partway through Jason Aldean’s appearance at the festival.

Crowds can be seen in a tent on the fringes of the event when the distinct sound of gunfire can be heard from nearby.

Terrified crowds dive for the floor in a desperate bid to avoid the hail of bullets being unleashed by the gunman.

Las Vegas Police have now confirmed the “suspect is down” after over 20 people were killed and at least 100 injured in the attack.

Joseph Lombardo, the sheriff of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department refused to give the name of the dead shooter but said his companion Marylou Danley is still at large.

Confirming the attacker’s death, he said: “The primary aggressor is dead.. the scene is static.”

He added the suspect lived locally and his motives are unknown.

There were no explosives involved in the attack but police used a controlled explosion to get to the suspect, according to Lombardo.

A hospital spokeswoman said 14 of the victims were in a critical condition, while police continue their investigation and warn people to stay away from the area.

Poker player and social media personality Dan Bilzerian claimed he witnessed a girl being “shot in the head” during an Instagram post of him fleeing the scene.

Filming himself, the social media personality said: “Holy f***, this girl just got shot in the f****** head.”

While running, he adds: “So f****** crazy.”

An eyewitness, who was at the Mandalay Bay concert with a friend, said Jason Aldean stopped in the middle of his performance and was rushed off stage.

Ivette Saldana said: “It was a horror show. People were standing around, then they hit the floor.”

Ms Saldana said she fled the scene and hid in a sewer.

Another witness told Sky News: A lot of us have been saying this has been a long time coming and look at us now.

“A lot of people have been shot, it’s horrible, disgusting – makes me sick.”
