Las Vegas shooting: Emergency phone numbers for the Mandalay Bay festival attack

Police have said that they do not have accurate numbers of the dead and injured, but have revealed that off-duty police officers were among the fatalities.

One gunman is dead and it is not believed that there are any other shooters, although officials are looking for a companion named Marilou Danley – a 4’11 Asian woman.

Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has called the incident a “lone wolf” attack, debunking reports of a second shooter.

He confirmed that the gunman, a local man, opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

The shooting took place on the third and final night of the Route 91 Harvest music festival.

Mr Lombardo said that the Red Cross is working with the police to establish a hotline for those trying to locate family members who attended the concert and are uncontactable.

“That number will be established shortly,” he said.

A “family retreat area” has been established at the police’s headquarters at 400 South Martin Luther King Boulevard.
