Police are responding to a report of a shooting at the University of Southern California, the Los Angeles Police Department have said.
The university issued an alert urging students and staff to avoid the area of 610 Childs Way on the University Park Campus and a shelter is in place.
Just one hour before the university tweeted about the shooting reports, they tweeted: “Our hearts are with Las Vegas”.
Aerial images show officers swarming the building and students evacuating and gathering on street corners.
This comes after the deadliests mass shooting to strike America where more than 50 people died.
One Twitter user said: “Everyone please pray for the University of Southern California, there is a shooter there and everyone is in panic. Please Pray.”
