That’s the view of Gunners legend Keown, who suggests it could be the final nail in the coffin of Ozil’s Arsenal career if he doesn’t feature against Brighton this weekend.
Ozil has only played in five of Arsenal’s 10 opening games of the season, in part to injury problems.
But Arsenal have not lost in any of the games the Germany international has missed, the latest being a 4-2 win over BATE earlier this evening with Theo Walcott scoring twice.
He has come under heavy criticism recently for his abject performances, in particular his display in the 4-0 to Liverpool last month.
And Keown doesn’t know whether Ozil is fully committed to playing for the Gunners.
“I don’t think Wenger can completely trust him any more,” Keown told the Daily Mail prior to the game taking place.
“It does not surprise me that Ozil has not travelled. Wenger hasn’t taken him because he knows he won’t get a performance from him.
“We have been told that no-one in the Arsenal squad is at the same level as Sanchez and Ozil but against Chelsea, the others stepped up to the plate.
“I can see that Sanchez loves his football and can be totally committed. We don’t know with Ozil.
“If he wants to, Ozil can respond and tell us that he is 100 per cent committed. Maybe we will see a change in his performances.
“If he does not feature against Brighton on Sunday, we will have a greater understanding of what Wenger really thinks about him.”
