SNES Classic Mini – Where to buy, stock checker for release date

The Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Edition will be available to buy and get your hands on tomorrow after a huge rush to pre-order the pint-sized console.

The SNES Classic Mini has been available to pre-order in the UK since it was first announced back at the end of June.

Nintendo tried to reassure fans that there would be plenty of stock available, but that did not stop a huge pre-order rush ahead of the release date.

Fans who missed out on SNES Classic Mini pre-orders are now gearing up to buy the pint-sized console on its release date tomorrow.

You can expect plenty of other people trying to rush to get a SNES Classic Mini, so you’ll need to stay alert for whenever stock goes live.

To help you out, Express.co.uk has rounded up all you need to know about the SNES Classic Mini release date.

We’ve got all the latest information on where you can buy a SNES Classic Mini and info on which retailers will have release date stock.

WHERE CAN YOU BUY A SNES CLASSIC MINI FROM?

You can expect all the major retailers in the UK to be selling the SNES Classic Mini on launch day.

But if you’re lucky enough to have already secured a SNES Classic Mini pre-order, you may be able to pick it up at midnight tonight.

Some 250 GAME stores are opening at midnight for the FIFA 18 launch.

And if you pre-ordered from one of these stores (as opposed to ordering online) you’ll be able to pick up your SNES Classic Mini from that branch as soon as the clock hits midnight.

The list of GAME stores opening at midnight is available on the GAME website.

Another major retailer – Argos – told Express.co.uk that they will have “a very small volume of stock” available in stores on the SNES Classic Mini launch day.

Argos said they expect SNES Classic Mini stock to sell out fast and are advising customers to reserve a unit online before they head to a store.

The product page for the SNES Classic Mini will be going live on the Argos website tomorrow.

An Argos spokesperson said: “Customers who are unable to secure a console at launch should keep checking our website as we are expecting more stock this side of Christmas.”

Sainsbury’s also told Express.co.uk that some stores will have the SNES Classic Mini available to purchase on launch day.

However, it will be “very limited” stock and they expect it to sell out quickly.

There is no way to reserve online so stock will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Here is a list of all of the retailers that offered SNES Classic Mini pre-orders in the run-up to the big release date:

• Amazon

• Argos

• Game

SNES CLASSIC MNI STOCK CHECKER – WILL THERE BE ENOUGH TO SATISFY DEMAND?

Nintendo have tried to reassure fans that the SNES Classic Mini will not suffer the same fate that the NES Classic Mini did.

The NES Classic Mini was discontinued earlier this year after suffering widespread stock shortages, but will make a return next year.

Fans who saw the pre-order rush may have been tempted to go on eBay to secure a pint-sized console from scalpers.

Express.co.uk has seen one SNES Classic Mini listing on eBay for an eye-watering £999.99 – more than FOURTEEN times the RRP.

But Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has warned AGAINST buying from scalpers and assured fans about stock availability.

In an interview with the Financial Times, he said that Nintendo had “dramatically increased” production for the SNES Classic Mini.

Reggie told gamers not to pay above the RRP for a SNES Classic Mini and suggested the console WILL be widely available.

He said: “I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn’t [have to] pay more than $79.99.”

WHAT DO YOU GET IN THE SNES CLASSIC MINI BOX?

The SNES Classic Mini comes loaded with 21 iconic 16-Bit games that are playable in glorious HD.

A number of the games loaded up onto the SNES Classic Mini were never before released in the UK.

These classic games are Earthbound, Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy III (which is actually Final Fantasy 6).

The SNES Classic Mini games list also includes the never before released Star Fox 2.

In the box, fans will get the SNES Classic Mini console, two controllers, an HDMI cable and a USB power cable.

SNES Classic Mini owners do not get an AC adapter in the box, but you can use the one included with your iPhone or Samsung phone to connect to the mains.
