Martial enquiry

10:50: Arsenal have requested Manchester United keep them informed about any developments regarding Anthony Martial.

The France international has made just one league start under Jose Mourinho this season and is said to be frustrated at a lack of playing time.

Arsene Wenger is a long term admirer of the 21-year-old and would welcome him at the Emirates.

According to the Gambling Times, Arsenal have made it clear to United they want to be told about any changes involving Martial’s situation.

Wenger on deadline day thoroughly

10:15: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted he was approached by Monaco about a deal to sign Thomas Lemar days before the end of the transfer window.

The Gunners were strongly linked with Lemar throughout the summer and reportedly made a £92m bid after agreeing to let Alexis Sanchez join Manchester City.

However the both deals failed to be completed, leading to a heavy criticism of Arsenal’s transfer business.

And Wenger has responded, saying: What happens now is that you’re contacted 48 hours before the end of the transfer window and someone says, “Are you still interested in this player?”

“You worked on that deal for three months, they closed the door and then suddenly they open it up again with two days to go.

“It’s all rushed decisions and very hectic in the last week.”
