Laver Cup 2017: Rafael Nadal already planning Chicago 2018 after Team Europe triumph

Team Europe were crowned Laver Cup winners with a 15-9 win over Team World courtesy of Roger Federer.

The Swiss went into his match with Nick Kyrgios on day three knowing a win would seal victory for Bjorn Borg’s team.

The 36-year-old did not disappoint, holding his metal to see off Kyrgios in three sets and guide Europe to the title 6-4, 7-6, 11-9.

And his team-mate Rafael Nadal was delighted with the win and admitted he was already looking ahead to the Laver Cup 2018 in Chicago.

“It is an unforgettable experience,” Nadal said.

“I love team competitions and having an unbelievable group next to me.

“Well done to everyone who put the team together.

“Well done Team World as well for a great fighting spirit.

“Anything could have happened in every match. We finally won in the last match but they’ve all been very close.

“Well done and we’re looking forward to coming you your house next year!”
