The film is her first major big-screen outing since xXx: Return of Xander Cage – which introduced her to a global audience earlier this year.
And the good news is that reports suggesting the film had been delayed through to 2018 are either incorrect or outdated.
Instead, there is now a confirmed release date of December 1.
Padukone herself shared two poster images, retweeting one response that said: “Love that the first visual of one of the year’s biggest releases with two A-list heroes, is the heroine.”
Indeed, the Bollywood idol’s fans have been lapping up the first look of her as the 13th-14th century Indian queen.

Another wrote: “I’m so proud of you… playing legendary, iconic queens fits you so well.”
“I have goosebumps! This is stunningggg. Good luck Deepika,” said a third.

Padukone doesn’t currently have other Hollywood projects on her slate but is expected to return for the next xXx movie when it finally goes into production.
