Resident Evil 2 Remake – You need this game instead

The Resident Evil 2 Remake is one the most eagerly anticipated games on the horizon, but no news has been revealed on it since it was first announced.

All fans know is that Capcom are planning on remaking Leon and Claire’s classic zombie-filled adventure in Racoon City.

No screenshots, footage or a possible release date has been revealed on the Resident Evil 2 Remake.

But for fans of the series hoping to scratch that Resident Evil itch, there’s one game on the horizon that they cannot miss.

Capcom have shown off footage from the brand new DLC heading to , and it looks like the update will be a corker.

**SPOILER TO FOLLOW FOR RESIDENT EVIL 7**

For fans who had initially been put of by the new direction Resident Evil 7 took, the upcoming DLC may sway them back to the series.

Resident Evil 7 Not A Hero follows series veteran Chris Redfield and takes place after the end of the events of RE7.

Footage revealed by Capcom shows Redfield battling variations of the Molded creatures RE7 protagonist Ethan Winters faced at the Baker Mansion.

However, Chris seems far better prepared to face these terrifying creatures as he has a huge arsenal of weapons at his disposal.

Footage from the upcoming DLC shows Not A Hero keeps the first person perspective Resident Evil 7 adopted.

But the combat seems much faster paced, with Redfield armed with assault rifles to help him dispatch waves of enemies.

While Resident Evil 7 was more about slow paced combat and terrifying scares, Not A Hero seems much more action packed.

The trailer for the DLC showed Redfield now boasts a melee attack, letting him punch Molded enemies in the face and destroying them instantly.

The footage makes it seem Redfield it a much more powerful character for players to control of than Ethan, and just an all-round badass.

The Not A Hero DLC has a release date of December 7.

On the same day another Resident Evil 7 DLC, entitled End of Zoe, will be released.

It marks the end of the Resident Evil 7 season pass, and Capcom will also release a Gold Version of the game on the same day.

This bundles in all the available DLC content alongside the main Resident Evil 7 game.

The DLC reveal comes after the producer for the Resident Evil 2 Remake gave a release date update.

Yoshiaki Hirabayashi was asked in a recent interview if he had any projects he wanted to tease for an upcoming release.

He said: “The only thing I can tell you is about something that’s already out in the public.

“Resident Evil 2, a remade version, the game, will be out from Capcom soon.”

Next year Resident Evil 2 will celebrate 20 years since it was first released.

That seems like the perfect opportunity for Capcom to release the RE 2 remake, and fans will be hoping for more information soon.

Speaking previously about the Resident Evil 2 Remake, Hirabayashi said: “It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved.

“The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans’ passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want.”
