Xbox One Backwards Compatibility UPDATE: Great news for fans of THIS Microsoft franchise

Xbox One Backwards Compatibility is about to add a true classic to the games list.

Microsoft has confirmed plans to make Fable Anniversary available as part of Xbox One Backwards Compatibility.

That’s according to Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who said that Fable Anniversary is being worked on right now.

“Hey Phil can we expect Fable anniversary to go backwards compatible on the Xbox One any time soon I have been waiting ages,” asked one fan on Twitter.

Spencer replied: “This should come, it’s being worked on now.”

Fable Anniversary is one of the most requested games on Backwards Compatibility, securing 34,000 votes from fans.

The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program currently boasts over 400 games and continues to provide regular new additions.

And while a lot of the most requested titles have now been added, Microsoft still have plans to add a few more.

The most popular games not available as part of the scheme include the Call of Duty Modern Warfare trilogy, Skyrim and Batman: Arkham City.

The Halo games are also highly sought after, although 343 Industries has said that it will take its time.

“We know everyone is very eager to get their hands on the Xbox One back-compat release of Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo 4,” reads a 343 blog post.

“We are eager to get them into your hands! The Xbox back-compat team is hard at work on final polish and we continue to work closely with them to help test and evaluate all four games for launch.

“We’re taking extra time to ensure the experience lives up to fan expectations but I hear we’re making great progress and release should be getting closer.

“As soon as we have a final date we’ll be sure to let you know.”
