Karim Benzema: Where does the Real Madrid ace’s €1bn release clause rank in Europe?

Benzema has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at the Bernabeu, committing his future until at least 2021. 

The 29-year-old is understood to be pocketing wages in excess of £125,000 a week. 

But his weekly salary doesn’t compare to the buyout clause in the Frenchman’s new deal. 

If another side want to sign Benzema, they will have to stump of a staggering €1bn for his signature.
