North Korea chaos escalates as Spain EXPELS Kim’s ambassador

The Spanish foreign ministry said it has asked North Korea’s ambassador to leave Spain before the end of the month because of his country’s refusals to cease its nuclear weapons programme.

Spain has cracked down on the actions of Kim Jong-un by ordering diplomat Hook Choi Kim to leave the country by the end of September.

The foreign ministry said: “Today, the North Korea ambassador was summoned and was told of the decision to consider him as a person non grata, therefore he must stop working and abandon the country before September 30.”

In August, Spain warned that North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programmes “create a serious threat to peace in the region and to global security”.

Spain’s decision to expel the North Korean ambassador comes after Peru and Mexico have done the same from their countries.

Peru said it was expelling North Korea’s ambassdaor over the country’s refusal to listen to the world’s “constant calls” to end its nuclear programme.

The United Nations security council imposed new sanctions after North Korea’s sixth and largest nuclear test this month.

On Friday North Korea launched a second missile over Hokkaido showing the world that the missiles can now reach the US territory of Guam.

Kim Jong-un’s hermit state has repeatedly conducted missile launches in recent months, despite the United Nations ordering it to cease.

US President Donald Trump is expected to discuss the growing standoff between the US and North Korea at the United Nations General Assembly this week.

The new UN sanctions include bans on textile imports and the sale of natural gas to North Korea. They also limit the amount of refined petroleum sales to the country to two million barrels per year.

President Trump said in August that North Korea would “face fire and fury like the world has never seen” it is does not stop threatening the US.
