Apple users have just a few hours left until they can download iOS 11.
This major update will be available from tomorrow with it bringing a huge swathe of improvements to the iPhone and iPad.
New features arriving on these devices include updates to Apple Maps, Siri and Apple Pay with users now able to transfer money to friends via a simple tap on the home button.
A new customisable Control Centre is also included along with a Do Not Disturb while driving mode which eliminates all distractions by automatically blocking notifications when in the car.
Perhaps the biggest change in iOS 11 comes to owners of Apple’s popular tablet.
The iPad now gets a dock to store all your favourite apps and features improved multitasking.
With drag and drop on iPad, you cab also use the power of Multi-Touch to quickly and easily move text, images, and files between apps and select multiple items with just a few taps.
So, if you fancy getting all of these new features on your iPhone/iPad, here’s how and when it will be available.
WHEN WILL iOS 11 LAUNCH?
Apple announced at its iPhone 8 launch event that iOS 11 will be available from tomorrow (September 19).
However, don’t expect to wake up to new features on your phone as it’s unlikely to be available in the UK until later in the evening.
Apple usually releases its software updates at around 6pm BST and we’re expecting similar timings this year.
The US technology giant never reveals an exact launch time so you’ll need to keep checking your settings to see when it becomes available.
You can do this by heading to Settings > General > Software Update.
It’s also worth noting that it can take longer to download the update on launch day as millions of fans attempt to install it on their devices at the same time.
WILL MY iPHONE/iPAD BE COMPATIBLE?
It’s worth noting that this latest operating system isn’t compatible with all iPhone and iPad models and if you own an older device, such as the iPhone 5c, you’ll have to stick with iOS 10.
