Fans have been given a first look at the Resident Evil 2 game that’s not coming to PS4 or Xbox One.
As fans wait for more news about the Resident Evil 2 Remake release date, Capcom and Steamforged Games have announced more details about the board game based on the survival horror hit.
The Resident Evil 2: Board Game – The B-Files Kickstarter campaign has finally been given a launch date.
The fundraising campaign will go live on Kickstarter at 8pm BST on Monday, September 25.
It’s being developed by Steamforged, the team behind the hugely successful Dark Souls board game.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
Details are thin on the ground, although Steamforged has released a teaser image (below) showing the game board, cards, monsters and characters included in the package.
Based on previous reports, the game could be released later this year.
Steamforged is also working on a Dark Souls Card Game, which has a February 2018 release date for backers.
It’s described as a co-operative deck evolution card game for 1-4 players.
“Players must explore the Encounters around them, defeating a myriad of enemies to gain Souls and Treasure,” Steamforged explains.
“They must use these to evolve and adapt their deck to better fight their enemies.”
But while decks are used to attack enemies, they also represent a player’s health.
The post continues: “Decks are only refreshed when the players rest at the bonfire, so players must defeat their enemies while husbanding their strength for the greater challenges ahead.”
The game will be available at retail in either March or April for people who didn’t pre-order.

Capcom is yet to reveal any Resident Evil 2 Remake gameplay footage, despite rumours that it could be released next January.
Resident Evil 2 is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary, having originally launched on January 21, 1998.
An early January release date means the game would have to be unveiled soon, perhaps at the Tokyo Games Show later this week.
