PS4 news: PS5 release date news, Destiny 2 Raid, GTA 5 Online update

For anyone who is a PS4 gamer, the PS5 release date is surely going to prove a big deal.

It could have a major affect on console sales, as well as on the development process of existing games.

So far, Sony have only gone as far as to say that they will be releasing a new console after the PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro.

However, the question of the PS5 release date remains.

Some have predicted a shock launch in late 2018, while other analysts believe Sony are waiting for the 4K TV market to really mature before they launch their latest hardware.

Both options come with their own pros and cons and both will have one major requirement.

The PS5, regardless of when it arrives, will need games.

According to the latest news from Square Enix, the company’s next big Final Fantasy project will be skipping current consoles and arriving on what comes next.

That means the PS5 and Xbox 2, or whatever Microsoft deems to call their next big gaming machine.

This was revealed during a recent interview with Dualshockers, who spoke with Director Hajime Tabata during PAX West in Seattle.

“Tabata-san explained that for its future projects, the team is not looking at the current generation of consoles, but at the next,” Dualshockers reveals.

“While the Windows Edition of Final Fantasy XV represents the current level of technological achievement for the studio, their sights are “set to the future where they can go even higher.”

“It’s worth mentioning that Tabata-san gave no indication or even a hint that the project he’s talking about is a Final Fantasy game. As far as we know, it could be something else entirely.

The fastest Fireteam to beat Bungie’s new Destiny 2 Raid has now been confirmed.

The Leviathan challenge was launched today and was apparently beaten in less than six hours.

The Legend Himself was the first team to beat the Raid, and according to Bungie there were a few that made it a close finish at the end.

The Legend Himself are a PS4 Clan and will likely be the first pick for many when it comes to the new Guided Games feature.

The beta version of Guided Games for the Nightfall Strike was launched this week, giving solo players the chance of meeting a Clan Fireteam to guide them through select endgame activities.

Unfortunately for those eager to run the Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid with the best, the beta for Guide Games assitance isn’t set to kick off until September 26.

But when it does finally becomes available, it should have left its limited beta access and allow for everyone to either become Seekers or Guides.

Until then, Bungie have released a new PvP map in celebration of the first Clan beating the Destiny 2 Raid.

“The first Fireteam has made their way through Leviathan. Shaxx isn’t far behind. Emperor’s Respite is now available for all in the Crucible,” Bungie revealed.

As confirmed by Bungie, players can enter Guided Games as either a Seeker or a Guide, with each role having different entry requirements.

A new GTA 5 Online update was released this week, bolstering the recent launch of the Smuggler’s Run expansion.

A new vehicle was launched today on PS4, PC and Xbox One, providing a new purchase for anyone who wants to go fast in a new ride.

The Dewbauchee Rapid GT Classic is now available to buy in-game on GTA 5 Online from Legendary Motorsport.

“The GT Classic has matured like a fine vintage wine, each passing year adding something mysterious to its allure,” Rockstar tease.

“Step inside this deeply customizable Sports Classic today and experience the kind of technique and self-assurance only time (or a supercharged engine blower) can bestow.”

For anyone who have already splashed a lot of their cash since the start of the new DLC launch, Rockstar have also provided a few ways of bolstering your funds.

Now through September 18th, double GTA$ & RP in the popular new Motor Wars mode is being extended, plus you can take to the track and earn twice the regular payouts on all Rockstar-created Stunt Races.

Here’s a few other bonuses teased by Rockstar for the next week: “When he’s not busy broadcasting harebrained conspiracy theories on Blaine County Radio, Ron’s refining his business acumen – having finagled buyers across the state into paying out Double GTA$ & RP for Cargo in Smuggler’s Run Sell Missions through September 18th.

“Plus, it is SecuroServ Employee Appreciation Week, with Bodyguards and Associates receiving Double GTA$ salaries.”
