The next instalment of the Star Wars franchise will see a trouble Luke, one who said, “It’s time for the Jedi to end”, in the first trailer.
However could certain events in The Last Jedi lead to Luke pulling himself together and embracing the Light Side once again?
It certainly looks possible after a new rumour has sprouted from Making Star Wars, a fan website known for its reliable leaks.
The claim is that at the end of the film Luke will hunt for Snoke, while Rey will pursue Kylo Ren.
Star Wars theorist Mike Zeroh divulged: “Will there be a time jump between The Last Jedi and Star Wars Episode IX?
“If Luke Skywalker is to go after Snoke at the very end of this film, it really does tell us that Luke is going to embrace the Jedi he once was many years ago.
“It has been said that Luke Skywalker’s redemption will be in the form of Rey.
“Not that Luke is evil, he is essentially disillusioned with reality, with what he has learned over the years.”
He said: “It would be so cool to see a little snippet, inside of a flashback…where Luke Skywalker goes up against Snoke and essentially slashes his face or uses force lightning.
“I have full belief that it was by Luke Skywalker. He seems to have a grudge against [him].”
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
