Hillary Clinton tell all campaign memoir SLAMMED as ‘sad’ by White House press secretary

has released a book called “What Happened” about her experience as the Democrat Party’s nominee for President of the in the 2016 election.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders described the book at a press briefing on Tuesday as the “last chapter” of the former Secretary of State’s life.

Mr Sanders said: “I think it’s sad that after Hillary Clinton ran one of the most negative campaigns in history and lost, and the last chapter of her public life is now going to be defined by propping up book sales with false and negligent attacks.”

Mrs Clinton described Trump as a “creep” in one of the chapters of her book and that he was invading her personal space during a live television debate.

Mrs Sanders added: “Whether or not he (Trump) is going to read Hillary Clinton’s book, I’m not sure. I would think he’s pretty well-versed on what happened and I think it’s pretty clear to all of America.”

Mrs Clinton criticises a number of people throughout the memoir, including Bernie Sanders, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the media.

Among her accusations, she said that Russia influenced the election and that Trump’s aides may have colluded with Putin.

The former Democrat Presidential nominee said Putin had a “personal vendetta” against her, dating to NATO’s expansion into eastern Europe during her husband’s presidency.

Appearing on CBS Sunday Morning, she said that Trump was: “Quite successful in referencing a nostalgia that would give hope, comfort, settle grievances, for millions of people who were upset about gains that were made by others because…”

The news presenter interjected: “What you are saying is millions of white people.”

Mrs Clinton replied: “Millions of white people, yeah.”

Mrs Clinton in one of the chapters that the book is not intended to be a comprehensive account of the 2016 race for the White House.

She writes: “I want to pull back the curtain on an experience that was exhilarating, joyful, humbling, infuriating and just plain baffling.

“Writing this wasn’t easy. Every day that I was a candidate for president, I knew that millions of people were counting on me and I couldn’t bear the idea of letting them down. But I did. I couldn’t get the job done. And I’ll have to live with that for the rest of my life.”
