Chelsea news: Eden Hazard is not back to his best yet – Antonio Conte

Hazard was named on the bench for Chelsea’s Champions League opener against Qarabag this evening.

And he wasn’t missed as the Blues ran riot, scoring six goals against the European minnows.

Hazard made his first outing for Chelsea this season in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Leicester, coming on for the final 12 minutes of the match.

And he was given a further 32 minutes to work on his match fitness ahead of the match against Arsenal this Sunday (1.30pm).

And while the Belgium playmaker is yet to rediscover his best form, Conte was happy with the overall performance of his side and singled out Davide Zappacosta for his display.

“It was a good result. We started the Champions League in the right way,” Conte said.

“I saw great commitment, focus and concentration right from the start.

“It was a great performance from the players.

“A lot of positive things from us.

“Davide Zappacosta played very well and Eden Hazard is trying to find his best form.”
