Star Wars 8 leaks: Guess which BIG Hollywood star has a CONFIRMED cameo in The Last Jedi?

On top of Princes William and Harry and, somewhat bizarrely, Gary Barlow; Rian Johnson has announced that a big Hollywood star will make a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance in The Last Jedi.

Speaking at a fan event in Japan, he confirmed previous rumours that Joseph Gordon-Levitt – with whom he worked on Looper – has a part.

“He does a cameo as a voice of an alien in the film,” he announced.

“It’s a very brief little thing but it’s fun. And if you watch the movie, maybe you’ll be able to hear Joe’s voice.

“That’s the first time I’m revealing that.”

Gordon-Levitt’s film work has been a little quieter in recent years, although he did play Edward Snowden in box office flop Snowden last year.

Looper, released in 2012, is widely believed to have put Johnson on the map, and he revealed in an interview published last week that several franchises came knocking on his door after its huge success.

On receiving an offer from this particular series, he told New York Times: “It was really, really out of the blue. I had a few general meetings with Kathy Kennedy when she took over Lucasfilm.

“I didn’t try to hide the fact that I was freaking out. But I also said, ‘Can I think about it?’”

Explaining further, he added: “After Looper, I had been approached with other franchise stuff and gotten used to saying no.

“And I knew this would mean so much to me — the worst thing I can imagine is having a bad experience making a Star Wars movie.

“[Kennedy] was slightly confused, I think. The next few days, I couldn’t sleep.

“I thought I was going to do a pros-and-cons list, but the truth is, it was more a decision from the heart. There was no way I could not do this.”

Johnson is also now thought to be a frontrunner to make Episode 9, after Colin Trevorrow parted ways with the project.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is out on December 15.
