And he sent Welsh fans into hysterics with a wonder strike from outside the area that proved to be a crucial winner for his country.
His 21-minute cameo didn’t earn him a starting place for their match against Moldova last night.
But was once again brought on in the second half and made an immediate impact by providing the cross for Hal Robson-Kanu’s opening goal.
And Woodburn has turned into a hot topic among Liverpool fans, with some going crazy over his performances for Wales.
One fan wrote: “I’m not saying Woodburn is going to win the Ballon d’Or but Ben Woodburn is going to win the Ballon d’Or.”
Another made light of Philippe Coutinho’s situation at the club by saying: “Coutinho will be scrubbing Ben Woodburn’s boots for him on his return from Brazil.”
While journalist Mark Ogden believes it won’t be long until Woodburn is a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
He said: “Ben Woodburn is a player. Won’t be long before he’s in Liverpool’s first-team on a regular basis…”
Woodburn burst onto the scene little under a year ago when he scored his first senior goal in an EFL Cup tie against Leeds.
Jurgen Klopp handed the teenager his Premier League debut just days before the Leeds match by bringing him on in the closing minutes during a 2-0 win over Sunderland.
“At that moment I thought it was a good idea, he deserved it and I thought ‘Come on, let’s go’,” Klopp said at the time.
“It was only after the game that I remembered it’s now really difficult to keep him back again, not for Ben or for me, but for the public.”
