Call of Duty WW2 – Fans hoping that PC gets open beta, is this the release date?

Call of Duty WW2 players are expected the PC to get an open beta period and have also penciled in when the release date should drop by.

The Call of Duty WW2 beta took place over the weekend, with CoD fans on the PS4 and Xbox One getting to test out the online multiplayer.

It was the second beta period that took place for Call of Duty WW2, with the first one being an early access Private Beta for the PS4.

Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey has previously confirmed that a PC beta will take place, and has said the release date will be “soon”.

However no set date for the Call of Duty WW2 beta has been set yet by Activision and Sledgehammer Games.

Fans on the Call of Duty WW2 Reddit page have been left speculating about when the beta could took place.

CoD fans have penciled in a release date for the Call of Duty WW2 PC beta taking place before the end of the month.

In one thread, directed towards Condrey, a fan speculates that the PC beta will have to take place one month before the Call of Duty WW2 release date.

Call of Duty WW2 launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC worldwide on November 3.

Which, if this timeline is correct, would mean the Call of Duty WW2 PC beta would have to come out before October 3.

In the post, a Redditor said: “What makes me really concern about this, release is Nov 3, game needs to be finished 1 month earlier to produce physical edition of the game, so around the start of October.

“So Sledgehammer has about 28 Days to finish the game, so the pc version should be already in a really good shape to give us any detail.”

Fans on the thread also said they are expecting the Call of Duty WW2 beta on PC to be an open beta – like previous CoD beta periods.

Responding to the post, one Reddit user said: “Regarding open beta, I don’t think you’ll have to worry too much about it.

“Both BO3 and IW had a period of open beta, so I don’t think Activision would be so boorish to restrict that now (especially since even Destiny 2 has an open beta).”

While another added: “If the Beta would be open (as it should have been on consoles as well) more people would try it out. Older COD players, newer COD players and maybe some who have never played single one of them.

“It would only be beneficial to them unless the beta is so horribly optimised that people would not be interested in it just because the game runs bad.”

In the aftermath of the recent Call of Duty WW2 beta, Sledgehammer Games detailed a number of changes they’re making to the game at launch.

In a blog post, they said: “Our Multiplayer Beta has come to a close. It’s been an incredible two weeks!

“Thank you so much for playing and sharing your thoughts with us. This game is incredibly personal to every developer at Sledgehammer Games.

“Nearly three years in the making, and we’re just a few short weeks from launching it live to the world.

“This Beta has definitely helped make the game better, and our backend launch readiness more solid. So our hats off to you for being a key part of the road to launch.”

They added that these features would be implemented at launch:

• Bumper Jumper

• Bumper Jumper Tactical

• Stick and Move

• Charlie

• One-Hand Gunslinger

• Scout

• N0M4D L3F7Y

• Brawler

• Beast
