Following international duty with Brazil, Coutinho is expected to return to Liverpool this week for the first time since he was denied a transfer to Barcelona.
The 25-year-old should be fit to feature against Manchester City this weekend but it remains to be seen whether manager Jurgen Klopp will play him in such an important game.
Liverpool then start their Champions League campaign against Sevilla at Anfield next week and Coutinho has been named in the squad list for the group stages.
But according to Spanish newspaper Sport, Coutinho could refuse to play for them in an attempt to play for Barcelona in the knockout stages.
The report claims Coutinho’s ‘disgust’ with Liverpool is ‘monumental’ and he remains frustrated by the ‘arrogant attitude’ of the club.

They describe the options as ‘radical’ and insist Coutinho has not abandoned his decision to leave Liverpool, hoping he could make the move in January.
But former Brazil international Neto has taken a swipe at Coutinho, claiming he is overrated.
“So you know, how many titles he has won with Liverpool? None,” Neto told Brazilian TV show Os Donos da Bola.
“Just to make it clear to you, because it seems that Philippe Coutinho is Zico, he’s Socrates, who did not win the World Cup.
“But they deserved to win!
“Philippe Coutinho is not all that you’re talking about. Calm down, slow down. He is a very good player, only he has not won a World Cup for us.”
