Italian Grand Prix 2017: Which six drivers have grid penalties? Where did they qualify?

Lewis Hamilton broke Michael Schumacher’s all-time pole position record with another scintillating wet-weather drive at Monza yesterday, but the rest of the grid is much less predictable behind his Mercedes.

Six drivers have been handed penalties ahead of the race, with both Red Bull and Renault drivers being affected.

Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo qualified second and third, but will start the race way down after changing parts of their power units – Ricciardo is further punished after a gearbox change.

Nico Hulkenberg takes a 10-place penalty for running a new MGU-H while team-mate Jolyon Palmer has a 15-place drop for doing the same work and also fitting a new turbocharger.

Disgruntled McLaren ace Fernando Alonso takes a 35-place penalty for a host of changes while Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz also moves back 10 slots due to his new MGU-H.
