Melania Trump wears heels AGAIN to visit Texas with Donald Trump despite previous backlash

Melania Trump, 47, defied critics by wearing stiletto heels to visit the devastated state – something she was savaged for on Twitter last week.

Today the First Lady wore a brown belted dress as she made her way to the plane with Donald Trump.

The dress was buttoned down the front and featured two pockets on the top half.

Although very fitted – showing off every curve – Melania’s dress had a coservative cut and came to her knee and had long sleeves.

Controversially, she paired the dress with a pair of snakeskin stiletto court shoes, despite facing intense criticism for wearing black stiletto shoes for her first visit to Texas last week.

Even though it was raining heavily, Melania completed her look with a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses.

She wore her hair in lose waves over her shoulders, and cuddled up to Donald as they sought shelter from the poor weather under a black umbrella.

Melania didn’t carry a handbag or wear a jacket as she walked to the waiting plane.

Melania was the subject of ridicule and criticism after wearing a pair of black Manolo Blahnik court shoes to Texas as Hurricane Harvey hit the state.

But today she showed the comments did not bother her at all as she repeated her sartorial decision.

Her shoes from last week’s visit caught the eye of critics who were quick to lay into the First Lady on Twitter.

One user wrote: “Dear Melania, 9 inch spike heels aren’t the best for working soup lines or rescuing folks. Oh yeah, y’all just Rubber Necking. Disgusting.”

Another said: “Melania is wearing stilettos to Texas to tour areas affected by Harvey. How out of touch can you be to walk damage in those?!?”

One fumed: “And here we have Melania Trump modeling what NOT to wear to a hurricane: 5-inch stilettos. How out of touch can you be?”
Another noted: “Melania….. sweetie… ppl are dying and ur watching them in Manolos and a bomber jacket.” (sic)

But the First Lady only wore the heels to get onto the plane flying her and Donald to Texas, and she had changed into trainers and more casual clothing for her arrival.

It is likely she will do the same again today – although whether or not she wears a “FLOTUS” baseball cap like last time is not yet clear.
