Melania Trump wore a simple black dress whilst supporting President Donald Trump at the White House.
The elegant shift dress was offset with a black matching leather belt to accentuate her trim waist.
An asymmetric neckline finished the dress off to keep the look refined and formal.
The usual blow-dry synonymous with the former model was part of the pared back look, with no jewellery bar her engagement ring.
One person tweeted: “I wouldn’t normally comment on Melania’s shoes but I’m not sure if this is what you wear to go meet ppl who’ve lost all of their belongings.”
Another wrote: “Melania is wearing stilettos to Texas to tour areas affected by Harvey. How out of touch can you be to walk damage in those?!?”
However, she was later spotted wearing simple Adidas trainers, having changed into more suitable attire.
The white shirt and trouser combo showed a much more serious and practical look to address the state.
Melania and her husband, President Donald Trump have been accused of being out of touch with the general public.
Body language expert, Darren Stanton explained their body language may have been to go against that belief.
He stated: “Whenever a high ranking politician visits a factory, disaster zone or is out on the campaign trail, their advisers all seem to follow the same trend.
“The one thing that all politicians want to be perceived as is being in touch with the people at a grass root level.”
