It seems the smartphone wars are hotting up.
Samsung launched its stunning Galaxy S8 earlier in the year and its new Note 8 has just been unveiled, with this giant phablet arriving in shops later next month.
Apple will also be joining the party, with the US technology firm expected to reveal all about its next iPhone in September.
Rumours are rife that the so called iPhone 8 will be launched on September 12 at a major event in California.
This next generation device is expected to include a swathe of extras such as a giant edge-to-edge display, faster processor and improved battery life plus wireless charging.
A new and improved dual-lens rear camera could also bring augemented reality to the device.
So, with Apple looking likely to to unveil one of its most radical new smartphones in years, Samsung appears keen to lure some Apple fans away before it’s launched.
The Korean technology firm has just sent out an offer which allowed iPhone owners the chance to grab an S8 for £19.99 per month.
The deal was based was 24 monthly payments with the total price paid for the S8, including a one-off deposit of £53, coming in at £533 – that’s £156 less than the standard S8 price.
However, there was a catch as to get the deal smartphone fans had to give Samsung their old iPhone.
The cheeky deal ran for three days between 25-29 September and, although it’s now ended, expect plenty more price wars to come.
