Boris Johnson SLAMS North Korea for ‘reckless’ missile launch as world on brink of war

The brutal regime of young despot Kim Jong-un fired yet another missile from Pyongyang on Monday evening, this time crossing northernmost main island of Hokkaido in the boldest show of force from the DPRK of recent years.

Foreign Secretary has since denounced the warmongering ways of the Kim regime, amid claims the UK could join the fray against the North Korea tyrant.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Mr Johnson said: “Outraged at reckless provocation by North Korea.

“Strongly condemn latest illegal missile launch by DPRK.”

It is not the first time that the UK Foreign Secretary has condemned a missile launch.

Last month, he said that the UK would “confront the growing threat” of North Korea following an ICBM launch by its tyrannical regime.

Following that launch, he said: “The UK strongly condemns North Korea’s second test of an intercontinental ballistic missile and calls on the regime to immediately stop all activity that breaches UN Security Council resolutions.

“The UK will stand alongside our allies and partners as we confront the growing threat North Korea poses to regional and international security.

“Once again North Korea shows no regard for its international obligations.

“We urge the DPRK regime to put the well-being of its own people ahead of the illegal pursuit of nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.”

Meanwhile Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has also warned enough is enough.

As he entered his office for an emergency meeting on the launch, Mr Abe said: “We will make utmost efforts to firmly protect the lives of the people.”

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga also described the missile test as an “unprecedented, grave threat”.

Earlier this week North Korea threatened Britain with a “miserable end” if it teams up with the in the ever-escalating conflict.

He warned Westminster against “taking advantage” of the chaos on the Korean peninsula and said they face destruction if they “play with fire”.

Kim also dismissed the UK as merely one of America’s “satellites” – in a scathing attack on Prime Minister Theresa May, who has not joined US president Donald Trump in speaking out on the hermit kingdom’s leader.

A statement released through a Pyongyang-based propaganda news agency said: “The reality vividly shows that the US ambition for stifling the DPRK remains unchanged no matter how much water may flow under the bridge and the puppet group’s ambition for invading the North remains unchanged.

“We solemnly warn not only the US and puppet group, but also satellites, including the UK and Australia, which are taking advantage of the present war manoeuvres against the north, that they would face a miserable end if they join in play with fire by tiger moths of war.”
