Avengers shock: TOM CRUISE to play THIS Marvel hero revealed at end of Guardians 2?

The golden queen of the Sovereign made quite an impact in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.

Eliozabeth Debicki’s slightly bonkers Ayesha then stole the show in the end credits scenes when she revealed her secret plans for the future.

Ayesha has been busy gestating a new character to destroy her enemies, who she called Adam.

Fans are convinced this will be the comicbook character Adam Warlock and director James Gunn has already spoken of the possibility that Tom Cruise could play the genetically engineered perfect man.

Unfortunately his words were not entirely kind.

When an excited fan tweeted Gunn about the idea, the director was quick to broadcast his views on social media.

Gunn wrote: “Don’t you think it would be weird for Ayesha to create the perfect man as someone in his mid-fifties?”

While he is technically correct about the actor’s age (Tom Cruise is 55), the comment could bruise the ego of an action star still used to playing the leading man opposite cast members half his age.

It won’t help that Cruise recently injured himself while filming Mission Impossible 6. Cruise prides himself on his physical stamina and fitness and likes to perform as many of his stunts as possible.

Gunn’s comments imply that he is no longer viable to be considered “the perfect man.”

The director also clarified another matter about Guardians of the Galaxy 3 in an impressively concise tweet.

He added: “Also never said Adam Warlock was in Volume 3.”
