Microsoft Surface Laptop UPDATE as new colours finally arrive in UK

MIcrosoft launched its stunning new Surface Laptop earlier this year, rapidly expanding its portfolio of in-house Windows devices.

The sleek laptop offers decent perfomance and luxury design in a portable PC that won’t break the bank.

and, despite a few niggles, concluded that “Microsoft has created a laptop that you’ll love using and, with its ludicrous battery life, should never let you down.”

However, until now it did have one annoying problem as UK buyers were only able to buy the laptop in one, fairly bland, colour.

Now Microsoft has confirmed that its UK version of the Surface Laptop is getting the full range of shades including Burgundy, Cobalt Blue and Graphite Gold.

These join the Platinum model in the lineup.

The Surface Laptop includes a 13.5-inch PixelSense display, protected by edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The touchscreen LCD display packs more than 3.4 million pixels – and supports almost all of the same operations debuted with the Surface Studio last year, including the ability to connect the Surface Pen and Surface Dial accessories.

Powering the Surface Laptop is a 7th Generation Intel Core processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage.

Surface Laptop is available to pre-order in the UK now, with prices starting from £979 for the entry-level model with 128GB SSD hard drive, an Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB of RAM.

UK prices for the Surface Laptop top-out at £2,149 for a model with a 512GB SSD, and a Intel Core i7 processor coupled with a hefty 16GB of RAM.

Speaking about the new colours, Microsoft said: “We’re excited to announce that starting today the Surface Laptop family gets far more colourful with the addition of Burgundy, Cobalt Blue and Graphite Gold devices now available from selected retailers nationwide.

“The latest designs add new colour schemes to the shell and a matching update to the Surface Laptop’s elegant signature keyboard.

“Made from Alcantara fabric, the keyboard instantly stands out from the crowd – sure to make co-workers jealous whilst also breathing new life into working remotely.”
